WRECKFISH (POLYPRION AMERICANUS)

Our Wreckfish (Polyprion Americanus) are frozen at sea on our vessel M/V RAN. They are single frozen and packed in 300 kg scantainers.

Polyprion Americanus is a fish in the family Polyprionidae (deep-water marine fish). It is commonly named “the Atlantic wreckfish” and is also known as stone bass, because it inhabits rocky ledges and wrecks.

Atlantic wreckfish are deep-water fish found on the ocean bottom at depths between 40 and 600 m, where they inhabit caves and shipwrecks (thus their name). It is found in the eastern and western Atlantic Ocean, western Indian Ocean and the southwest Pacific Ocean.
